Arizona Federal Credit Union – New Slogan and Mission Statement

Dollars for US, Crumbs for you, our valued members. How's that for a loyalty reward?

Dollars for US, Crumbs for you, our valued members. How’s that for a loyalty reward?

Since Arizona Federal Credit Union wants to distinguish itself, it needs to have an accurate slogan and mission statement. Here are some ideas we have received:

“Bad service, big fees.”
“Pay more, get less.”
“Less for you, more for us. Experience the power of US.”
“You’d be crazy to choose Arizona Federal to do your banking here. Apparently you are crazy.”
“Thanks for the $3 monthly membership dues, suckers! This helps fund our retirement.”
“The $3 membership dues are mutually beneficial, for US. What did you think the power of US really meant?”
“We care about the community, especially the $3 a month you give us.”
“$6 million reason why you shouldn’t join Arizona FCU. Thats how much we hope to collect in annual member fees.”
“We are not for everyone, but your monthly $3 “contribution” is still welcome.”
“We are the only credit union and bank in town, so we can arrogantly charge you $3 per month, and you can’t do a damn thing about it.”
“We are different than a bank, because we charge you unavoidable $3 monthly membership weasel fees. Not even banks do that.”
“Our members woke up in December 2012, hoping we would begin charging them $3 in monthly fees. We only gave them what they wanted.”
“We went into this with our eyes open, as well as our piggy banks open, to collect all this money from our members.”
“$3 is not much to you, but it all adds up for US. Almost $6 million worth, every year. Just think what new cars and homes our executives can buy with that.”
“Paybacks for loyalty to US? You got that right. From you and your wallets, to us and our wallets.”
“$45 million in profits to the credit union, $3 million payback to members, but we still need $6 million more in new membership fees every year. Sounds fair to us employees!”
“Arizona Federal is big on financial education. Ignore the part about us taking your money to the tune of $3 a month though. Whatever we tell you is mutually beneficial.”
“We hope you don’t shop around, because then you would see there are far better alternatives that pay more on your savings, charge less in fees, and respect you as a member.”
“This is a ‘fee them up’ strategy, we want everyone to pay dues for something that they do not see as value.”
“We want you to be loyal to US, even if we are not loyal to you, our members.”
“Backlash, there is no backlash. All our members like paying $3 in unnecessary membership fees, I mean dues. I said dues. Dont write that part where I said fees.”
“Certainly we are monitoring very carefully to see how we move the dial, from your pockets, to ours.”
“Now it is on us to deliver on our promise – to charge you $3 each and every month, until you learn you have a choice not to be ripped off.”

“Arizona Federal Credit Union’s mission is to extract $3 monthly from the wallets of its members, while telling them how that is mutually beneficial. This will help fund our employees’ bonuses and retirements.”

About Arizona Federal Credit Union Members United

Arizona Federal Credit Union Members United is a group of over 100 members and former members who care about our credit union being run fairly. The leadership of the credit union has failed to represent us properly by enacting a new and unnecessary, unavoidable, unconscionable, $3 monthly membership fee that we did not want. The members did not ask for this. Before implementing such a counter-productive fee, the proposal should have been put up for a vote to all the members to decide, so the will of the people is followed. The member-owners of Arizona FCU should not be taxed $3 monthly, simply for being a member. We want all the $3 monthly member fees refunded to all current and past members, the elimination of the fee going forward, and the elimination of the $25 rejoining fee. We are against any financial institution charging an unavoidable ongoing membership fee, simply for being a member. This is the wrong approach. Members and customers should be valued, not punished. We want to see Arizona FCU succeed, not fail. Imposing unfair policies that are detrimental to the long-run success of the credit union and detrimental to society should be abolished.
